Learn to sail Part 1

You can join Commodore Decatur Yacht club as an Association Member (only $100/year) and take advantage of free instruction and coaching every Saturday all season long. You'll learn on a Compaq 16 and can graduate to sail on a fast and fun Hobie 16 or a stable and relaxing San Juan 21. Once qualified, members can check out boats for free anytime or continue sailing on Saturday and work with coaches to develop skills and build confidence. Email Dan at clintonmarinasailing@gmail.com if you would like to participate in sail with us on Wednesdays at the Clinton Lake Marina and we'll provide free instruction and coaching on the Flying Scot on Saturdays at the Commodore Decatur Yacht Club.  

On Wednesday nights, our most accomplished regatta racers make it a point to sail with beginner and immediate skippers.  We also provide free coaching on Saturdays at the Commodore Decatur Yacht Club for recreational racers who want more time on the tiller.  Qualified skippers can check out a Flying Scot and enjoy some quality practice or just go for a relaxing sail to get even more tiller time.  

Adult Sail Camp is an intensive learn to sail weekend for Sea Leg Saturdays sailors and aspiring Wednesday night beer can racers who want to fast track their learning and development. Learn from championship racers. The weekend culminates in a Sunday afternoon Beer Can Race.
